Research Progress on Bacteria Quorum Sensing Inhibitors of Plant-derived

  • The emergence of bacterial resistance has become one of the concerns of global public health, and the traditional methods of dealing with drug resistance are gradually becoming invalid. It is essential to find new targets to develop new antimicrobial drugs. Studies have shown that targeting microbial quorum sensing(QS)seems to be a better alternative method to traditional antibiotics. The search for quorum sensing inhibitor(QSI)from nature, especially the plant-derived QSI,is considered to be an effective method to solve microbial pathogenicity and food spoilage. Based on the existing theories and research, this paper reviews the research status and functions of plant-derived bacterial quorum sensing inhibitors, and look forward to prospect the development of the quorum sensing inhibitors,so as to provide reference for the application of the bacteria quorum sensing inhibitors in microbial resistance and the development of new preservatives.
