Research of structure and activity of Arabinans

  • Arabinans are mainly composed of arabinose units, which are widely found in the cell wall of plants seeds, fruits, leaves, stems and roots.However, the structure differences of arabinans from different sources huge.Arabinans show the activity of improving the intestinal microecosystem and beneficial bacterium and enhancing the immunity of the organism, so they can be used as functional food ingredients.This review introduces the research of structure and activity of arabinans.Meanwhile, the future research development is forecasted.
