Extraction of polysaccharide in Lycium barbarum residue

The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of extraction times, extraction time and solid to liquid ration on the extraction rate of crude polysaccharides from Lycium barbarum residue ( PLB) . An orthogonal test was used to confirm the optimal extractive parameters based on the single factor experiments. The results of the optimum extraction conditions were as follows: number of extraction of 3 times, extraction-duration of 40 min every time, water to raw material ratio at 1∶ 40 ( g/m L) .The average extraction rate for the polysaccharide was 10.65%.The optimization of PLB was reasonable and feasible.The results provide the theoretical base for improvement of PLB extraction rate.
