Abstract
Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate the anti-tumor effects of total triterpene glycosides from Pearsonothuria graeffei( TGPG).The effects of TGPG on the viability of three tumor cell lines,S180,Caco-2 and Hela were measured by MTT methods. The in vivo solid S180 tumor-bearing mice models were established to investigate tumor inhibitory, immune regulation and antioxidant effect of TGPG.The results indicated that TGPG could inhibit the growth of S180,Caco-2,and Hela cells in vitro observably in a dose-and time-dependent manner.TGPG could inhibit the growth of S180 tumor in vivo, and the average tumor inhibition rate was 47.01%.TGPG could also increase the spleen and thymus indexes( p < 0.05),promote the activities of GSH-PX and GST( p < 0.05) and increase the contents of GSH( p < 0.05) both in serum and liver remarkably. In summary,TGPG can inhibit the tumor growth in vitro and in vivo through immune regulation and antioxidative effect.
