Application and research on intelligent labels in the food packaging

Food intelligent labels as an advanced food package technology can initiatively indicate food 's quality and freshness,which has the characteristic of scientific,objective and intuitive and could also improve consumers' confidence to purchase fresh foods. The intelligent label were divided into two categories,and the principles,application status and trends of both time- temperature indicator and gas intelligent label were summarized here.Meanwhile,with the development of the information technology,combining the intelligent labels with the informational tags was becoming a potential interesting point of this field.Therefore,the intelligent lablels utilized in the food supply would enhance the safety,convenience,controllability and commerical value in food products.
