Extraction and purification of fucoxanthin from Undaria Pinnatifida

With single factor experiment and orthogonal test,this study aimed to extract fucoxanthin from Undaria pinnatifida,silica gel column chromatography as further purification.The experimental results showed that,12 times95% acetone,2.5h,55℃,extracting for 3 times,were more efficient and economic. The purity of fucoxanthin could be improved from 2.31% to more than 24.2% after silica gel column purification.
