The third generation of sports drinks research progress in additive, type of sports drinks with natural products

  • Modern sports drink will not only meet the needs of professional athletes, but also need to meet the needs of some ordinary people who love sports. Sports drink of first generation mainly contained water, carbohydrates and electrolyte. Some functional materials such as vitamin and amino acid were added to the sports drink of first generation, which formed the sports drink of second generation. On the base of making use of the result of biological technology, the sports drink of third generation contained many natural products which had the characteristic of various kinds, unique flavor, and more function. Some natural products which were added to the sports drink of third generation were listed in this paper. Some recommendations to develop the sports drink of third generation were also given here.
