Abstract
Lactic acid bacteria as a probiotic, could be used to play the role of anti-enteritis through a variety of ways, in addition to inhibition of the growth and adherence of pathogenic bacteria in intestinal flora, but also regulation inflammatory cytokines from intestinal epithelial cells. The functions of lactic acid bacteria and its metabolites on regulation intestinal inflammation were reviewed, focused on the soluble substances, DNA, polyphosphate and dead bacteria of some lactic acid bacteria. The mechanism of action of the lactic acid bacteria and its metabolites was also summarized. The main pathways of lactic acid bacteria to regulate intestinal inflammation were inhibition of NF-κB and p38 MAPK signaling pathway.
