Antibacterial activity and composition analysis of mallotus oblongifolius extraction

  • Filtering paper method was used to determine the antimicrobial properties of mallotus oblongifolius by inhibitory zone.And the results showed that mallotus oblongifolius extraction had inhibitory effects on Bacillus subtilis, Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus and Saccharomyces. The methods of solvent extraction and ion precipitation were adopted to purify the extract for the further analysis. Approaching the refined extract with GC, HPLC and UV scanning, and the tea polyphenol were proved to be the main antimicrobial component of mallotus oblongifolius.
