As a kind of piperidine alkaloid with much hydroxyl, 1-deoxynojirimycin has a variety of physiological activities.Currently, 1-deoxynojirimycin is a hot research point in the functional food, pharmaceutical and so on.The recent research progress on effect of 1-deoxynojirimycin on glucolipid metabolism was reviewed, and also the future development trends in order to provide a theoretical reference for further study to DNJ was predicted in this paper.
