Abstract
Response surface methodology was employed to optimize the extraction of polyphenols from Choerospondias axillaris peel residue based on one-factor-at-a-time experiments. The influences of ethanol concentration, extraction time, extraction temperature and solid-to-liquid ratio on the extraction of polyphenols were studied.A regression model for total polyphenols yield as a function of four factors was built. Results indicated that extraction at 59℃ for 52min with a 30-fold volume of 52% ethanol aqueous solution yielded the most total polyphenols, reaching 51.916mg/g, which was basically in accordance with the model-predicted value. In conclusion, the optimized extraction process is reliable and can be used for the development of products based on Choerospondias axillaris peel polyphenols.
